Who doesn't love Red Squirrels?
.
Today I'm going to talk you through some of my favourite photos of the cute red squirrels form my trips to Cairngorms, Scotland. Being from Somerset in England, unfortunately we only see grey squirrels which are commonly associated with being pests, but it hasn't always been this way and hopefully, in the future, we can expect see more of our native red squirrels around the British Isles.
Naturally, when I go to Scotland, I can't wait to see and capture photographs of the beautiful red squirrels, especially when they are playing in the snow like in the photograph below.
The Equipment I Used
The first few years I went to the Cairngorms I was armed with my Canon 200d and a 70-300mm kit lens. I know I captured good photos with this set up, but when I went returned, I had the mighty Sigma 150-600mm (c) Lens. I could defiantly tell the difference in quality of the lens. The extra reach was also very handy, as the squirrels prefer to play in the trees and observe from afar (although with a handful of peanuts, they become much braver!)
Which is your favourite Photo?
These are my favourite photos that I have captured of Red Squirrels so far. I can't wait to return and take more in the future. Which one of these photos above is your favourite and what do you love most about these beautiful animals? Let me know in the Comments.
