Last June my partner was looking through social media and spotted a post saying that a rare bird to the UK had been spotted at Ham Wall.
This bird was a River Warbler, and after some brief research I discovered that it had been almost 10 years since one had last been seen on UK mainland. Living close to Ham Wall, I had to go and see if I could capture a picture of this rare visiter. As soon as we could, we drove down to the reserve and followed the crowd to find the bird. Luckily it was still there and singing a beautiful tune as it flew amongst the reeds. Once I found my focus, I managed to get a few good pictures which you can view below.
I am grateful for the opportunity of photographing, and sighting this rare bird, the River Warbler, on it’s rare visit to the UK.
